Setting up Carbon Filter & Fan
If you’re growing plants indoors the last thing you want is to stink up your grow environment with musty plant smells, unless of course, you’re growing something that smells lovely! To remove the bad smell you may need a complete carbon filter & fan kit. There are many ways to set up a carbon filter & fan in your indoor garden.
Carbon filter & fan kit included:
a. Carbon filter that’s suitable for your indoor garden
b. Aluminium ducting or other ducting to connect your filter to the fan
c. Duct clips for securing an air tight seal between your fan & filter
d. Duct tape for an extra secure seal
e. suitable extractor fan for your grow tent
STEP 1
Unpack and clean the carbon filter with a damp cloth, ensure that you are far away from your grow space before installation.
STEP 2
When installing your carbon filter always minimise the distance between the fan and the filter. Avoid having excessive ducting, turns, or elbows in the airflow between the filter and the exhaust fan. Use the foil tape or duct tape to secure the point where the in-line fan and carbon filter meet for extra stability.
STEP 3
For best performance attach the fan to the filter, so that the dirty air is pulled through the filter and into the exhaust air duct.
Sequence of equipment: Carbon Filter > In-line Fan > Exhaust Duct.
Clean the surface of your filter and wash the pre-filters regularly to prevent dust and debris from clogging the surface of the filter.
